Saini Das is the first girl chess player of Tripura who qualify to represent Indian Sub Junior (Under-10 years) team for International Tournament in the year 2009. She finished third position in the National Subjunior (Under-9 years) Tournament in 2008 in New Delhi .

Rati Ranjan Dhar is the first swimmer of Tripura who took part in International Swimming Tournament. He finished the second position in the Indo-Srilanka Palk Swimming Tournament in 1969.

Gulti Chowdhury was the first women football of Tripura who represented Indian Football team two times in Asian Football Tournaments. Gulti first represented Indian Under-17 Women football team in Seoul , South Korea in 2005. She also represented Indian Senior Women team in 2007 in the Asian Football Tournament against Iran .

Arjan Ali represented Indian School Football team in Asian Football Tournament in 1994. He also played in different clubs in Kolkata including Mohan Bagan Club.

Diptanu Banik

Diptanu Banik represented Indian Gymnastic team in the year 2001 in Hungary . He bagged a Gold medal and two Silver medals from the Tulit Petre International Gymnastic Competition. He finished third position in all-round group in Hungary in the same tournament in the year 2000.

Bijan Saha represented Indian Gymnastics Team in many International tournaments. He represented India in Asian Games in 1982, Commonwealth Games and many other International tournaments. Mr. Shil is at present the Gymnastics Coach Border Security Force.

He represented India in Asian Games in 1982, Commonwealth Games and many other International tournaments. Mr. Chowdhury is at present the Gymnastics Coach on Indian Railway.

Bisweshar Nandi has been Captain of the Indian Gymnastics Team for six times taking part in International tournaments. His outstanding contribution to the Indian Gymnastics was reflected in superb tune from 1978 to 1986. He represented India in Asian Games in 1982, Commonwealth Games and many other International tournaments. Mr. Nandi is at present the Gymnastics Coach on Netaji Subhas Regional Coaching Center, a state government run center.

Dr. Kalpana Debnath

Dr. Kalpana Debnath is the first and only women Ajuna awardees of Tripura. She bagged the title of ‘All Round Best Women Gymnast of Indian’ nine times in succession, which is till a record in history of Indian Gymnastic. She also bagged all Gold medals in the National Tournament at Surat in 1978. Dr. Debnath is presently the Gymnastic coach of the Sports Authority of India, NSNIS, Patiala .


Mantu Debnath

Mantu Debnath is the first Ajuna awardees of Tripura. He bagged Gold medal in the International Tournament first in 1969 at Almata in the Soviet Union . He represented the Indian Gymnastics team several times since 1969. He led the Indian Gymnastics team in the Asian Games 1994 held in Hirosima of Japan as coach. Mr. Debnath is presently the Gymnastic coach of the Sports Authority of India.
