Cricketer of the year Tushar & Annapurna

All-rounder Tushar Saha was chosen for ‘cricketer of the year’ in men’s category while Annapurna Das in women’s category. Biswajit Pal was preferred as ‘coach of the year’ and Rajib Sharma as ‘umpire of the year’. In an executive body meeting Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) announced best performers for 2007-08 in various categories of the national and domestic cricket. All were chosen for their best performances both in national and domestic cricket.

The other cricketers were Sourav Dubey as best batsman and Subal Chowdhury best bowler in Super Division league cricket, Samrat Sinha as best batsman and Prabir Paul best bowler in ‘A’ Division league cricket, Biswajit Dey in Tapan memorial knock-out tournament, Jayanta Debnath in Jogesh Chakraborty memorial league cricket. Nirupam Sen Chowdhury of Bishalgarh subdivision in senior level state meet (elite group) and Kartik Debnath of Sonamura subdivision in senior level state meet (plate group).

Bishal Ghosh selected as best batsman and Ranajoy Das best bowler in Sadar subdivision level 95 points tournament. Rahul Dey chooses as best batsman and Krishna Kamal Acharya best bowler in Sadar subdivision level 110 points tournament. Samir Debbarma in Sadar subdivision level school cricket while Rima Chakraborty in domestic women’s cricket.

Moreover, Writuraj Sinha in 95 points category, Bishal Ghosh in 110 points, Samir Debbarma in school cricket and Raju Roy in visually challenged category were entitled for stipend for one year from TCA.

For their remarkable contributions to promote state cricket in yesteryear four officials namely Dilip Bhattacharjee(Chalaman Sangha), Amitabha Ghosh(Sphulinga) in Agartala and Nabyendu Das, Ashis Chatterjee in Kailashahar and Udaipur subdivisions respectively selected for felicitation, first time in the state cricket. The annual prize giving ceremony and felicitation programme likely to be held on middle of October 2008.
