Football :
Tripura Police entered in to Super League of domestic First Division Football tournament here today. In a crucial match at the Dashrath Dev Stadium, Badharghat, Police defeated Lalbahadur Vyamagar by solitary goal. Striker Kiran Chhatri scored the decider in third minute of the match. After this match, Police earned 12 points from five matches while Lalbahadur now in the third position jointly with Ageya Cholo Sangha with eight points from five matches.
Sudhanya Debbarma Memorial School holds Air Fource Bol Bharati School by 0-0 goals in the Subrata Mukharjee Cup National School Football tournament at New Delhi today.
Athletics :
Tripura bagged two Silver and two Bronze in the Inter Zone National Junior Athletics Championship at TATA Nagar, Jamshedpur hare today. Raju Debanth bagged Silver in five kilometers walk for under-16 boys and Jiten Debbarma took Bronze in High Jump for under-14 boys in last day. Earlier, Supria Das finished third position and bagged Bronze in three kilometer walk for under-16 girls on Monday last. Shima Debbarma bagged Silver in High Jump for under-14 girls in the first day of tournament.
Cricket :
Tripura lost their first match in Buchibabu Invitation Cricket Tournament in Chennai here today. At Mugugappa ground, Kerala beat Tripura by seven wickets. Decided to bat first, Tripura bundled out 136 runs in 47 over. Rajib Datta scored unbeaten 38, Kishor Muhuri 28 and Abhijit Dey made 25 for state team. Tinu Youhanan took two wickets. In reply to, Kerala touched the winning target by losing three wickets in 36.5 over. Rafi Vincent Gomes made 28, Jagadish unbeaten 55 and Rohan Prem scored 47 for winning team. Rana Datta took two wickets for Tripura.
Tripura will play against Mumbai on September 5-6 next. Other team of this group is Karnataka.
Altogether 28 cricketers collected their token in first two days for transfer of upcoming season.
