South Africa ’s Jacques Kallis has made progress in the right direction in the latest Reliance Mobile ICC ODI Player Rankings after a good series against Kenya .

The Proteas’ all-rounder scored 71 and 92 not out in his side’s 2-0 series win over the African neighbours and these performances have helped him return to the top 20 of Reliance Mobile ICC Player Rankings for ODI batsmen after 10 months.
Kallis, who was number-one in February 2005, has jumped three places to 19th position and with the three-match ODI series against Bangladesh starting later this week, the 33-year-old has a good chance of further climbing up the ladder.
Kallis has also improved his bowling ranking by vaulting eight places to 53rd. His combined effort with the bat and the ball means he is back in the top five of the Reliance Mobile ICC Player Ranking for ODI all-rounders. He has improved his ranking by two places and now shares fourth position with Pakistan ’s Shahid Afridi.
Jean-Paul Duminy is the other batsman who has made an upward movement. The 24-year-old scored 90 and 10 not out to rise seven places to 47th.
However, Herschelle Gibbs and AB de Villers have failed to maintain their rankings. Gibbs is now 12th after dropping one place while de Villers shares 17th position with Yuvraj Singh of India after sliding four places.
Alex Obanda is the main beneficiary in the batting listing for Kenya . He has jumped 15 places to 80th spot.
There is no major change in the Reliance Mobile Player Rankings for ODI bowlers except Kenya ’s Peter Ongondo who has dropped out of top 20 after slipping three places to 22nd.
South Africa ’s stand-in captain Johan Botha has broken into the top 50 for the first time in his career by jumping eight places to 49th. Botha’s team-mate Albie Morkel has also improved his ranking by seven places and he now sits in 67th position.
The list is still headed by Australia’s Nathan Bracken with New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori in second spot and Mitchell Johnson, another Australian, in third.
South Africa remains in second place behind Australia on 118 points in the Reliance Mobile ICC ODI Championship while Kenya is at the bottom of the table on 11 ratings points after conceding three ratings points for the 2-0 series defeat.
