Cricket :

Junior world cupper and member of East Zone Dalip team Tushar Saha to lead Tripura Ranji team this year. Tushar was selected in place of Rajesh Banik, who led the team last year. Tripura Cricket Association announced 15 members Tripura team for their first match against Services from November 03 next. Two new faces were included in the team. They are skipper of under-22 state team Abhijit Dey and paces Rana Datta. Three professionals – Nishit Shetty, Vinit Jain and Sourav Dubey – were also in the team.
Selected squad – Tushar Saha (Captain), Jayanta Debnath (Vice-captain), Timir Chanda, Rajib Datta (Wicket kipper), Subal Chowdhury, Rajib Saha, Rajesh Banik, Nishit Shetty, Vinit Jain, Sourav Dubey, Gopesh Bhowmik, Abhijit Dey, Rana Datta, Biswajit Dey, Jiban Paul (Wicket kipper). Coach : Samir Dighe, Manager : Malay Chakraborty.

Tripura girls lost their last match by 117 runs against Manipur in the East Zone one-day cricket tournament for under-19 girls at Jemshedpur on Monday last. At college ground, elected to bat first, Manipur scored 203 for 9 in their stipulated 50 over. Ganga scored 69. For Tripura Prianka, Tagori and Annapurna took two wickets each. In reply to, Tripura bundled out only 92 runs in 32.2 over. Moutushi scored 20.

Tripura bundled out only 108 runs against Orissa in the C. K. Naidu four-day cricket tournament for under-22 boys at Agartala on Thursday last. Elected to bat first at Polytechnic ground, due to poor batting display host Tripura bundled out only 108 run. Manisankar Murasing scored 29, Nirupam Sen Chowdhury 16, Dilip sing 15 and Soumya Banik made 14. For Orissa, Alak Mongaraj bowled brilliantly and took 6 for 36. D. Sing bagged 3 for 3. In reply to, Orissa scored 75 for 5 at the end of day one. Two openers N. Behera scored 30 and T. Sahu made 28. Spinner Rakesh Sharma took four wickets for Tripura.

Orissa took vital first innings lead against host Tripura in the C. K. Naidu four-day cricket tournament for under-22 boys at Agartala on Friday last. Resuming from over night score of 75 for 5, Orissa scored 244 runs in their first innings. Skipper Atish Jena scored brilliant ton of 103 runs. Kipper batsmen Anshuman Gope made 44. Spinner Rakesh Sharma took seven for 68. In two matches Rakesh bagged 19 wickets so far. Trailing by 136 runs, Tripura scored 54 for 3 at the end of day two. Opener Amit Das scored 16.
