Kipper batsmen Rajib Datta scored brilliant half century to put Tripura in a sizable total against Assam in the four-day Ranji Trophy cricket match here on Monday. After shaky start by top order batsmen at the Maharaja Bir Bickram Stadium, Tripura bundled out 215 runs of their first innings. Put in to bat first, Rajib scored 54 (110 balls, 135 minutes, 8X4, 1X6). Besides Rajib, Rajesh Banik made 48 (118 balls, 147 minutes, 7X4) and Subal Chowdhury scored 30 runs. Spinner Arlen Konwar took 5 for 59. In reply to, Assam scored 45 for 2 at the end of day. Vinit Jain took two wickets for hosts.

Football :
Tripura girls lost their first quarterfinal match against Manipur in the National Junior Football tournament for under-19 girls in Gurgohn, Hariyana on Tuesday last. Manipur beat Tripura by 3-0 goals. Winning team scored all three goals before lemon break.
