Cricket :
Tripura lost their opportunity and felt in deep trouble in the four-day Ranji Trophy cricket tournament this season. After glorious win against Services in the very first match, Tripura lost their second encounter in home ground against Assam by five wickets on Wednesday last. Set for the victory target of 213 runs, visitor Assam touched it by losing five wickets at the Maharaja Bir Bickram Stadium on penultimate day. Orissa born skipper Rashmi Ranjan Parida scored brilliant 79 (157 balls, 193 minutes, 11X4) and Baroda born former National cricketer Jacob Martin made 45 (73 balls, 100 minutes, 6X4). Veteran spinner Jayanta Debnath bagged four wickets for Tripura. Earlier, resuming from over night score of 96 for 5, host Tripura bundled out only 192 runs in second innings. Nishit Shetty scored 55 (84 balls, 134 minutes, 7X4) and Vinit Jain made 21 (14 balls, 13 minutes, 3X4, 1X6). Left arm spinner Anand Katti took four for 65. With this win Assam bagged full five points from their first match, while Tripura also earned five points from two matches.

Football :
Lucky-Sribastava Memorial Prize Money Invitation Football tournament will be held on November 26 next. Altogether ten teams will participate in the seven days tourney. ONGC Tripura asset organized the tournament.
