Football :

North Imphal Sports Club of Manipur clinched the title of North East Federation Cup Football tournament at Belonia on Monday last. In the final at the BKI ground, Imphal team beat Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) by 1-0 goals. After barren first half, M. Bejen Singh scored the decider in 82nd minutes of play.
Earlier, last year’s Agartala league champion Ageya Cholo Sangha bowed out from the tournament in second semi-final on Saturday last. ASEB beat Ageya Cholo by 2-1 goals. In another semi-final on Friday last, Imphal team defeated Meghayala team by penalty shoot out. It may be mention that, both the finalist teams were qualifying for second round of Federation Cup tournament.

Badminton :

Tripura women team entered in to Semi-final of North East Badminton tournament in Shillong today. Tripura girls beat Arunachal Pradesh. They will play against Assam on tomorrow.

Football :
Tripura Police beat Lalbahadur Vyamagar by 2-1 goals in the last match of Super league of domestic First Division Football tournament here today. With this victory Police earned 24 points from nine matches and finished top of the tally. Lalbahadur bagged 15 points from same numbers of match. Kiran Chhatri scored first and Police took lead by 1-0. Then, Nigerian Feemen struck and Lalbahadur leveled the score 1-1. At last, Binod Kishor Jamatia scored the decider for Police team. With this match domestic football season was finished this year.

Altogether 86 goals were scored by different footballers in the recently concluded season. Referee showed four red and 69 yellow cards. Striker Kiran Chhatri of Tripura Police bagged top scorer with 13 goals. Behind Kiran, Liberian striker James of Ageya Cholo Sangha scored 11 goals.

Badminton :
Anjan Majumder bagged three crown in the State Level Badminton Championship here today. At the Netajee Subhash Regional Coaching Center Anjan beat Subrata Banik by 21-5, 21-9 in men singles. In men doubles Anjan and his partner Prasenta Das beat Susanta Malakar and Md. Jahiruluddin by 21-17, 21-8 points. Anjan also clinched the title of Junior Boys title by beating Susanta Das by 21-11, 21-3 points. In women section, Rupasree Nath beat Puja Ghosh by 21-23, 21-15, 21-11 points and lifted champion trophy. Rupasree also bagged Mini girl’s title by beating Manasi Debbarma by 21-10, 21-7 points. In Sub-junior boys section, Narayan Das beat Prasanta Das by 21-12, 12-16 points and confirmed champion trophy. R. K. Manajit Singh abgged champion trophy in Mini boys section by beating Amarta Pal by 21-11, 21-8 points. The prizes were handed over after three-day competition.

Badminton :
State Level Badminton Championship started here at Netajee Subash Regional Coaching Center, Agartala today. Altogether eight sub-divisions were took part in this three-day tournament. President of Tripura Badminton Association MLA Sahid Chowdhury was inaugurated the tournament.

Yoga :
State Level Badminton Championship started at Udaipur today. Deputy Chairperson of State Planning Commission MLA Keshab Majumder was inaugurated the tournament.

Football :
Litan Saha was selected as a captain of Tripura sub-junior football team for under-16 boys this year. Twenty members state team has been selected by Tripura Football Association for this tourney. Selected players were, Arup Nag, Sanjoy Debbarma, Joswa Debbarma, Hafiz Sadhan Jamatia, Presenjit Ghosh, Amrit Debbarma, Ajit Debbarma, Rexona Debbarma, Emanul Debbarma, Litan Saha (Captain), Pritam Debbarma, Dijaraj Ghaosh, Biswajit Harijan, Ramjoy Reang, Pradip Marak, John Debbarma, Sukesh Debbarma, Pabitra Sadhan Jamatia, Nilakishr Jamatia and Rajib Debbarma. Coach ; Sujit Ghosh, Manager : Tapash Debnath.

Basketball :
Twelve members Tripura Basketball team were selected for National Youth Basketball tournament at Bhilai. The tournament will held on September 18-25 next.

Football :

Forward Club registered second win in the domestic First Division League Football tournament here today. In a crucial match at the Dashrath Dev Stadium, Badharghat, Forward upset Tripura Police by 4-2 goals. Lanthan Kima struck first in 29th minute and Biswa Kalai increased the lead 2-0 before lemon break for Forward. After break, Kima netted another goal in 50th minute and and Jonson Darlong fined the net in 76th minute and Forward confirmed their victory with 4-0 goals. Trailing by big margin, Kiran Chhatri scored two goals in 79th and 82nd minute of the match. After this match, Forward bagged six points from four matches while Police team earned nine points from same numbers of match.

In another match at the same ground on Thursday last, Nine Bullets Club beat Nobodoy Sangha by 4-2 goals. Nigerian striker Benjimin scored two and Liberian striker Aron Iee Cole and Sanjoy Toppo scored for Nine Bullets. For Nobodoy, Liton Majumdar and Jagadish Debbarma netted two goals. Nine Bullets now earned six points from four matches while Nobodoy Sangha finished four points after same numbers of matches.

Badminton :
State level Badminton Championship will be held at NSRCC, Agartala on September 13-15 next.

S. M. Cup :
Tripura will play against Srilankan School team and other four states and unit school football teams in the Subrata Mukherjee Cup School Football tournament in New Delhi on September 02 next.

School Sports :
Football :
Tripura Sports School lifted the title of State Level Under-19 School Football tournament this year. In the final match at the Umakanta Mini Stadium, Sports School beat South District team by 2-0 goals.

Table Tennis : South District dominated in all sections of State Level School Table Tennis Championship at NSRCC, Agartala.
Result :
Under 14 Boys : Champion : West District, Runners : South District.
Under 14 Girls : Champion : South District, Runners : West District.
Under 17 Boys : Champion : South District, Runners : West District.
Under 17 Girls : Champion : South District, Runners : West District.
Under 19 Boys : Champion : South District, Runners : West District.
Under 19 Girls : Champion : West District, Runners : North District.

Swimming : West District clinched the title of State Level School Swimming Championship with 421 points here at Raima Swimming Pool, Badharghat. After 72 categories, South District finished second position with 395 points. Next three position were Tripura Sports School (124), North District (84) and Dhalai District (22).

Football :
Tripura Police drubbed Nine Bullets Club by 3-1 goals in the domestic First Division League football tournament here today. In the third match at the Dashrath Dev Stadium, Badharghat, Bullets lead 1-0 goal before lemon break. Liberian striker Aron Ie Colestruck fined the net in seventh minutes of match. After break, Police bounced back and scored three goals by Litan Miha in 69th minutes, Sandip Das in 79th minutes and striker Kiran Chhetri in 83rd minutes. Police opened their account with three vital points from their first match.

Athletics :
Tripura bagged three Gold, one Silver and two Bronze in the East Zone Junior Athletics Championship at Jamshedpur today. Archana Shukla Das (High Jump), Supria Das (3 kilometer Walk) and Shima Debbarma (High jump) bagged Gold medals. Ity Debnath (100 meters Hurdles) lifted Silver and Archana Debnath (100 meters Hurdles) and Ranjana Singha (400 meters sprint) bagged Bronze medals. Three-day tournament starts from August 16 last.

Badminton :
State Level Badminton Championship will be held at Netajee Shbhash Regional Coaching Center, Agartala, on September 13-15 next.
