Cricket :
Visitor Vidarbha took vital first innings lead against Tripura in the second day of four-day Ranji Trophy Plate-B cricket match here today. Resuming from over night score of 188 for 6 at the Maharaja Bir Bickram Stadium, Vidarbha finished their first innings in 224 runs. Ranjit Paradkar scored 76 (193 balls, 264 minutes, 12X4). Skipper Tushar Saha of host team took six wickets. In reply poor batting display by Tripura boys and bundled out at only 150 runs for their first innings. Two middle order batsmen Nishit Shetty and Abhijit Dey scored 37 (80 balls, 99 minutes, 6X4) and 35 (84 balls, 105 minutes, 5X4) respectively for hosts. Vidarbha spinner Madhusudhan Acharya bagged 4 for 23 and pacer Md. Hasim took 3 for 42. Leading by valuable 74 runs, visitor Vidarbha scored 30 for one in the second innings at the end of the day. Opener Amit Deshpande is still batting, who scored 17.

Gymnastics :
Gymnast Dipa Karmakar took three Gold and two Silver medals in the National Women Sports in Kolkata on Saturday last. Dipa bagged Gold medals from Uneven Bar, Vaulting Horse and Floor Exercise category. She also took Bronze medal from Balancing Beam. Her partner Sharmistha Malakar took Bronze medal from Uneven Bar apparatus. Earlier, Tripura bagged two Silver medals from team championship and Individual All Round category also.
Swimming :
Tripura bagged eleven medals including three Gold’s, from National Swimming Championship for disables at Colonel of Friday last. Rakesh Debbarma (50 mt. Free Style & 50 mt. Brest Stroke) in Sub-junior section and Mantu Debbarma (100 mt. Brest Stroke) in senior section took three Gold medals. Sukanta Das bagged one Silver medal from 100 meters Back Stroke and four Bronze medals from 100 meters Free Style, 100 meters Brest Stroke, 100 meters Butter Fly and 200 meters Individual Medley in senior section. Tamal Rudra Pal bagged two Bronze medals from 100 meters Brest Stroke and 100 meters Free Style in junior section. Mantu Debbarma took one Bronze from 50 meters Butter Fly in senior section.

Football :
Forward Club registered second win in the domestic First Division League Football tournament here today. In a crucial match at the Dashrath Dev Stadium, Badharghat, Forward upset Tripura Police by 4-2 goals. Lanthan Kima struck first in 29th minute and Biswa Kalai increased the lead 2-0 before lemon break for Forward. After break, Kima netted another goal in 50th minute and and Jonson Darlong fined the net in 76th minute and Forward confirmed their victory with 4-0 goals. Trailing by big margin, Kiran Chhatri scored two goals in 79th and 82nd minute of the match. After this match, Forward bagged six points from four matches while Police team earned nine points from same numbers of match.
In another match at the same ground on Thursday last, Nine Bullets Club beat Nobodoy Sangha by 4-2 goals. Nigerian striker Benjimin scored two and Liberian striker Aron Iee Cole and Sanjoy Toppo scored for Nine Bullets. For Nobodoy, Liton Majumdar and Jagadish Debbarma netted two goals. Nine Bullets now earned six points from four matches while Nobodoy Sangha finished four points after same numbers of matches.
Badminton :
State level Badminton Championship will be held at NSRCC, Agartala on September 13-15 next.
S. M. Cup :
Tripura will play against Srilankan School team and other four states and unit school football teams in the Subrata Mukherjee Cup School Football tournament in New Delhi on September 02 next.

Football : Tripura Sports School lifted the title of State Level Under-19 School Football tournament this year. In the final match at the Umakanta Mini Stadium, Sports School beat South District team by 2-0 goals.
Table Tennis : South District dominated in all sections of State Level School Table Tennis Championship at NSRCC, Agartala.

Under 14 Girls : Champion : South District, Runners : West District.
Under 17 Boys : Champion : South District, Runners : West District.

Swimming : West District clinched the title of State Level School Swimming Championship with 421 points here at Raima Swimming Pool, Badharghat. After 72 categories, South District finished second position with 395 points. Next three position were Tripura Sports School (124), North District (84) and Dhalai District (22).

Nobodoy Sangha sheared points with Lalbahadur Vyamagar in the domestic First Division League Football tournament here today. At the Dashrath Dev Stadium, Badharghat, both the teams were locked by 0-0 goal. After this match, Lalbahadur bagged seven points from three matches and now top of the tally while Nobodoy earned four points from three matches.
Swimming :
Tripura will participate in the National Junior Swimming Championship at Jalandhar, Panjab this month. Seven members Tripura team were selected for this competition. Selected swimmers were, Tularam Reang, Sanjit Reang, Sunita Jamatia, Punam Debbarma, Manu Debbarma, Swapna Sardar Jamatia and Malkosh Miha.

Football :
Soraj Sangha lifted the champion trophy in the domestic Second Division League Football title 2008. In the last match of Super League Soraj Sangha beat Blood Mouth Club by 4-1 goals on Thursday. Tripura Sports School bagged runner-up trophy. Soraj Sangha confirmed to entry in the First Division for next season. Debasish Harijan finished top scorer with 10 goals in this tournament.
Swimming :
Tripura will participate in the National Junior Swimming Championship at Amritshwar Punjab from August 31 to September 04 next. A selection trial for state team will be held on July 26 at Umakanta Pool next.
Cricket:
Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) starts fitness cum coaching camp from today. Altogether 29 women cricketers were selected for 15 days camp. The selected cricketers are,

Basabi Debbarma fo Tripura AG clinched the title of Women section in the East Zone AG Carrom championship. In the Final match Basabi defeated Madhabi Biswas of Bengal AG.

Umakanta Coaching Center moved in to Super League in the domestic Third Division Football tournament. Swimming :
Joy Bahadur Jamatia clinched Silver medal in the National Sub Junior Swimming Championship. At the Subhas Sorobar in Kolkata Joy timed 0.38.55 second in 50 meter Brest Stroke for under 11-12 years group.
State Meet :
State Level Weight Lifting, Power Lifting and Body Building Championship starts on June 27 last. Chief Minister Manik Sarkar opened this three days tournament. Altogether 275 competitors were took part in this tourney. Nine Sub-divisions, three Play Centers and one unit joined this championship. MLA Sudip Roy Barman, former Deputy Speaker Subal Ruddra and Chair Person of Agartala Municipal Cluncil Sankar Das were present in this function.
