Football :

Birendra Club upset Nobodoy Sangha by 0-0 in the domestic First Division League Football tournament here today. At the Dashrath Dev Stadium, Badharghat, both the teams were locked in 90 minutes. With this draw Nobodoy earned five points from five matches while Birendra opened their account with one point from five matches.

A selection trial of Tripura under-16 football team will be starts from September 02 next. Sujit Ghosh named as a coach of the state team. National Tournament will be held at Mahipur, Panjab on September 20 next.

Cricket :
Transfer of cricketers for upcoming domestic season (2008-09) has been scheduled from September 10 to 20 next. Token will be distributed from September 01-08 next. The out station cricketers will collect their token and take part in the transfer in scheduled date also.

School Sports :

Judo & Yoga : State Level Judo & Yoga Championship will be held at Belonia on August 30 to September 01.

Kho-Kho & Kabadi : State Level Kho-Kho & Kabadi Championship will be held at Dharmanagar on September 11-13 next.

Football :
Tripura Police routed Birendra Club by 3-0 goals in the domestic First Division League Football tournament here today. At the Dashrath Dev Stadium, Badharghat, Kiran Chhatri struck first in 33rd minute and Police lead 1-0 before lemon break. After break, Kitan netted again in 56th minute and Binod Kishor Jamatia scored third in 73rd minute for Police. With this win Police team earned nine points from three matches and now top of the tally while Birendra yet to open their account after their fourth match.

Cricket :
Rajesh Banik was selected to lead Tripura team in the upcoming Buchibabu Invitation Cricket Tournament at Chenni on September 02 next. Fifteen members Tripura team was announced by Tripura Cricket Association today. Selected cricketers were,
Rajesh Banik (Captain), Rajib Datta (Wicket Keeper), Subhrajit Roy, Bappa Das, Amit Das, Subal Chowdhury, Rajib Saha, Kishor Muhuri, Jayanta Debnath, Abhijit Chakraborty, Gopesh Debnath, Rana Datta, Prabir Paul, Abhijit Dey and Jiban Paul (Wicket Keeper). Stand By : Biswajit Dey, Sukanta Reang, Sanjib Saha, Saumya Banik and Abhijit Das. Coach : Samir Dighe.

Judo :
Tripura will take part National Sub-junior Judo Championship at Haridwar, Uttarakhanda from October 02-06 next. The Judokas who have secured first position (under-14 years) in the recently concluded the State Level Championship 2008 has first priority for this National tournament. If first position holders fails to participate then second and third positions will be consider accordingly.

Football :

Defending champion Ageya Cholo Sangha registered first win in the domestic First Division League football tournament here today. In opening match at the Dasharath Dev Stadium, Badharghat, Ageya Cholo routed Birendra Club by 4-1 goals. Nigerian striker James scored twice and Sukanta Debnath and Joydeep Debnath scored one each for winning team. Iswar Jamatia netted one for Birendra. Earlier veteran footballer Shambhu Nama was opened this tournament. Minister Joygobinda Debroy and President of Tripura Football Association Pabitra Kar, MLA were present the function. Altogether seven teams were participating in this single league cum super league tournament.

Judo :

Sabroom and Sadar-A were clinched the title in both girl and boys section respectively in the State Level Judo Championship this year. Two-day compitation concluded at Netajee Subhash Regional Coaching Center at Agartala on Wednesday last. In girls section Sabroom finished top with 28 points. Followed by Tripura Sports School (17) and Shantirbazar (14) managed next two spot's. On other side, in boys section Sadar-A lifts champion title with 33 points and Belonia finished second place with 19. After finished the competition, Social Welfare Minister Bijita Nath handed over champion and runners trophies. Secretary of Tripura Sport Council Kamal Saha was present in the function.

Open – First Samapti Chakma (Kanchanpur), Second Sumati Noatia (Santirbazar), Third Joysree Chakraborty (Belonia) and Purnima Nama (Tripura Sports School).

Altogether 20 cricketers were selected for Buchibabu Trophy training camp which will be starts fromm August 16 next.

Football :
Nobodoy Sangha lifted the title of Rakhal Shield 2008 here today.
In final encounter at Dashrath Dev Stadium, Badharghat, Nobodoy Sangha beat Tripura Police by 2-1 goals. After barren first half Sujit Shukla Das and Liton Majumdar struck twice for winning team. Binod Kishor Jamatia managed to score for Police team. Nobodoy custodian Parth Biswash selected Man of the Final match.

Tripura bowed out from National Sub-junior Girls Football tournament at Halduani, Uttaranchal today. Orissa routed Tripura girls by 5-0 goals in second match. Earlier Orissa trounced Tripura by 7-0 goals in first match on August 09. Other team of this group Karnataka withdraws their entry from this tournament.

Judo :
State Level Judo championship will be held at Netajee Subhash Regional Coaching Center, Agartala tomorrow.

Football :
Nobodoy Sangha to take on Tripura Police in the Final of domestic Rakhal Memorial Shield knock-out football tournament on August 11 next.
In the second Semifinal at Dasharath Dev Stadium, Badharghat, Nobodoy beat defending champion Lalbahadur Vyamagar by 1-0 goal. Liton Majumder scored the decider 74th minutes of match.

Judo :
State Level Judo Championship will be held on August 11-13 next. The tournament will be held at NSRCC.
