Football :
Tripura moved in to Final of National School Football tournament for under-19 boys at Port Blear today. In the semi-final, Tripura beat Karnataka by 2-1 goals. Surajit Debbarma and Prabal Debbarma scored for Tripura. Earlier, Tripura routed Kendriya Vidyalaya by 5-1 goals in Qurter-final. In final, Tripura will play against Orissa on tomorrow.

Cricket :
Opener J. Saxena scored a brilliant ton to put Madhya Pradesh in a solid foundation against host Tripura in four-day Ranji Trophy Plate-B cricket match here today. Put in to bat first at the Maharaja Bir Bickram Stadium, visitor Madhya Pradesh lost their two early wickets in 48 Runs. Skipper Hrishikesh Kanitkar (06) and opener H. Sagar (3) back to the pavilion. After then, J. Sexsena and his partner Debendra Bundela Added unbeaten 162 runs at third wickets and Madya Pradesh scored 210 for two at stumps on day one. Saxena scored 125 (285 balls, 364 minutes, 4X13) and Debendra Bundela made unbeaten 68 (177 balls, 241 minutes, 4X8, 6X1). Pacer Vinit Jain and spinner Jayanta Debnath took one wicket each for Tripura.

Football :
Tripura entered in to Quarter final of National School Football tournament for under-19 boys at Port blear today. In second pool match, Tripura drubbed Chhatishgarh by 5-0 goals. Earlier, in first match Tripura beat Uttar Pradesh by 2-0 goals. Tripura boys now will play against Kendriya Vidyalaya in Quarter final.

Hockey :
First North East Sub-junior Hockey tournament for under-16 will be held at Agartala on December 17-23 next. Five teams – Assam, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and host Tripura will participate in this tournament. The matches of the tournament will be held at Arundhutinagar Police Hockey ground.

Cricket :
Tripura girls defeated Sikkim by nine wickets in the East Zone Senior one-day cricket match on November 24 last. Elected to bat first at Kalyani ground, Sikkim bundled out only 68 runs in 39 over. Kikam Bhulia scored 15. Tagari Debnath bagged three and her partner Annapurna Das took two wickets for Tripura. In Reply to, Tripura touched the winning target by losing one wicket in 18.2 over. Rima Chakraborty scored 23.
Brief Score : Sikkim – 68/10 (39 over), Tripura – 69/1 ( 18.2 over).

Jharkhanda beat Tripura girls by 152 runs in the East Zone Senior one-day cricket match on November 25 last. Elected to bat first at Kalyani ground, Jharkhanda scored 218 for 5 in their stipulated 50 over. Nishaf Fatima scored 42 and her partner Shina Praveen Asraf made 41. Annapurna Das took two wickets for Tripura. In Reply to, Tripura bundled out only 66 runs in 42 over. Rima Chakraborty scored 27. For Jharkhanda, Seema Desal and Kavita Roy took two wickets each.
Brief Score : Jharkhanda – 218/5 (50 over), Tripura – 66/10 ( 42 over).

Tripura girls lost East Zone Senior one-day cricket match against host Bengal on November 26 last. Put in to bat first at Kalyani ground, Tripura bundled out 70 runs in 34.1 over. Indra Rani Jamatia scored 17. Jhulan Goswami took four wickets for Bengal. In Reply to, Bengal touched the winning target with out losing any wickets in 14.4 over. Rituparna Roy scored 25 and her partner Riya Chowdhury made 38 runs.
Brief Score : Tripura – 70/10 (34.1 over), Bengal – 71/0 ( 14.4 over).

Cricket :
Tripura took vital first innings lead of 85 runs against Services in the second day of four-day Ranji Trophy cricket match in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Resuming from over night score of 203 for 7, Tripura finished their first innings on 223 runs. Abhijit Dey scored 34 and Rajib Datta made 27. In reply to, Service bundled out only 138 runs for their home soil of Palam Air Fource ground. Tahir scored 52 for hosts. Spinner Abhijit Dey took 3 for 16 and he was supported by Vinit Jain 2 for 33, skipper Tushar Saha 2 for 40 and Jayanta Dey bagged 2 for 22. Leading by 85 runs, Tripura faced only one over with out any score at the end of day two.

Football :
Tripura girls beat Bihar by 2-0 goals in the National Junior Girls Football Tournament for under-19 years in Gurgown on Tuesday. Rupati Debbarma and Mita Sarkar scored two goals for Tripura.

Tripura entered in to quarter-final in both boys and girls section in the National School Football Tournament for under-17 years in Goa on Tuesday.

Football :

Tripura boys bagged seven points from three matches and hope for entry in last eight in the National School Football Championship for under-17 age groups in Goa on Sunday last. Tripura beat Madhya Pradesh by 2-1 goals. Both the goals were scored by Durnamani Jamatia. Earlier in another match, Kerala hold Tripura by 1-1 goal. Ajay Debbarma scored for Tripura. In girls section, Bihar holds Tripura by 0-0. Fudulu Debbarma missed an easy opportunity from a penalty. Earlier, Tripura registered first win in both boys and girls section of the Championship on Saturday last. In Boys section Tripura beat Jammu & Kashmir by 4-1 goals. Ananta Kishor Jamatia, Ajay Debbrama, Kartajoy Reang and Durnamani Jamatia scored for Tripura team. In girls section, Tripura defeated Tamilnadu by 4-0 goals.

Cricket :

Tripura lost their second match against Orissa in the C. K. Naidu Trophy under-22 four-day cricket match at Agartala on Thursday last. Set for the victory target of only 19 runs at the Polytechnic ground, visiting Orissa touched the winning target without losing any wicket of their second innings. Earlier, trailing by 136 runs in the first innings, Tripura finished their second innings on 154 runs. Manisankar Murasing scored 31, Sanjib Saha 25 and Dilip Sing made 24. For Orissa, Alok Pradhan took 4 for 48.
Brief Score : Tripura first innings – 108, Orissa first innings – 24, Tripura second innings – 154, Orissa second innings – 23/0.

Athletics :

Tripura will not to participate in the National Junior Athletics Championship at Mahishor, Karnataka from November 12-16 next. It was decided by Tripura Athletics Association on Sunday last. In a selection trial nobody can touch the qualifying mark. Altogether 70 athletics were participating in this trial camp.

Football :

Tripura Police routed Forward Club by 4-1 goals in the Super League of domestic First Division Football tournament here today. In the first match of Super League at the Dashrath Dev Stadium, Badharghat, both the teams were locked 1-1 before lemon break. Kiran Chhatri scored first in forth minute and Nigerian striker Christina leveled the score in 11th minute. After break, Sandip Das netted a brilliant goal from a free kick in 57th minute. Then Kiran Chhatri struck again in 61st minute and Police took the lead 3-1. At last Sandip confirmed the victory (4-1) from a penalty in 77th minute. With this victory, Police earned 18 points and top of the tally from seven matches while Forward now in the last position with nine points from seven matches.

Sudhnya Debbarma Memorial School of Tripura bowed out from Subrata Mukharjee Cup National School tournament. In the last match in New Delhi, Assam beat Tripura team by 4-0 goals.

Cricket :
Tripura bundled out168 runs against Karnataka in the Buchibabu Trophy Invitation Tournament in Chennai today. Elected to bat first of two-day match, Rajib Saha scored 37, Amit Das 31, Rajesh Banik 31 and Gopesh Bhowmik made 29 for state team. Rayan took 6 for 51 for Karnataka. In reply, Karnataka scored 79 for 3 at the end of day one. K. B. Paral scored 25 and D. Patil made 29. For Tripura Jayanta Debnath took two wickets.

Handball :
Tripura will participate in the National Junior Handball Tournament at Bhilai, Chhatishgarh from October 1-6 next.

Football :

Lalbahadur Vyamagar moved into Super League in the domestic First Division Football tournament here on Friday last. In a deciding match at the Dashrath Dev Stadium at Badharghat, Lalbahadur routed Nine Bullets Club by 4-2 goals. Mizo striker David struck first in the 21st minute and Lalbahadur took lead 1-0 before lemon break. After break, Bullets leveled the score (1-1) by Mizo midfielder Vannumaria Vanchan in 48th minute. Then, Nigerian striker Feeman scored two goals in 55th and 60th minutes and Lalbahadur took lead by 3-1. In the 68th minute Nigerian striker Benjamin reduced the margin 2-3 but Mizo midfielder H. Malsama Tulunga confirmed victory for Lalbahadur in 72nd minute of play. With the victory Lalbahadur bagged eleven points from six matches and confirmed to entry into Super League with Tripura Police, Ageya Cholo Sangha and Forward Club. On other side, Bullets bowed out after league matches with seven points from six matches.

Sudhanya Debbarma Memorial School of Tripura lost their third match in the Subrata Mukharjee Cup National School Football tournament in New Delhi on Friday. Champion school of Uttaranchal defeated Sudhanya by 3-1 goals. Satya Debbarma scored lone goal for state team.

Cricket :

Tripura lost heir second match of Buchibabu Invitation Cricket Tournament in Chennai on Friday last. Strong contender Mumbai beat Tripura by eight wickets. At the Murugappa ground, chose in to bat first Tripura bundled out 156 runs in 62 over. Rajib Datta scored 53 and Rajib Saha made 44. For Mumbai, Harmit Singh took five for 33. Set for the victory target of 157 runs Mumbai touched it easily by losing three wickets in 29.2 over. Avi Nayak scored 69 and Vaniyak made unbeaten 59. For Tripura, Rajesh Banik and Prabir Paul took one wicket each. Earlier, Kerala beat Tripura by seven wickets in first match. Tripura will play their last match against Karnataka.

Altogether 21 cricketers were collected their token in fifth day for transfer of upcoming club tournaments.

Football :

Sumantika Jamatia and Dipika Munda both from Tripura were selected for National camp for under-17 girls from September 15 next. The camp will be held at Haldunai in Uttaranchal. Altogether 39 footballers were selected for this camp.

Tripura Police defeated Nobodoy Sangha by 2-0 goals and finished top of the tally with 15 points from their six league matches in the domestic First Division Football tournament here on Thursday. Binod Kishor Jamatia struck first in third minute for Police. After lemon break, Utpal Chowdhury confirmed their victory in 78th minute. With this defeat Nobodoy bowed out from the tournament after league matches with five points from six matches.

Sudhanya Debbarma Memorial School of Tripura got walkover against Sri Lankan champion school team on Thursday. Sri Lankan team was not attending in this tournament.

Cricket :

Altogether 14 cricketers were collected their token in fourth day for transfer of upcoming club tournaments.

Football :
Nine Bullets upset hot favorite Ageya Cholo Sangha by 3-3 goals in the domestic First Division League Football Tournament here today. In a crucial match at the Dashrath Dev Stadium, Badharghat, Sanjoy Toppo netted two goals and Nine Bullets took lead by 2-0 in 25th and 32nd minute. Then Ageya Cholo bounced back and scored three goals by Liberian striker James (33rd and 35th minute) and Saijul Ali (45th minute). After lemon break, Ranadip Dey scored a brilliant goal and Nine Bullets leveled the score (3-3) in 69th minute. With this draw, Ageya Cholo earned eight points from five matches while Nine Bullets bagged seven points from five matches.

Athletics :
Sima Debbarma bagged Silver medal in High Jump for under-14 girls in the Inter Zone Athletics Championship at TATA Nagar, Jemshedpur today.

Cricket :
Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) will set up a Cricket Academy at Maharaja Bir Bickram Stadium, Agartala with in March 31, 2009. It was decided in an Executive Meeting of TCA here today.
Annual Prize distribution ceremony of TCA will be held on third week of September. Five former cricketers have been selected for felicitation in the ceremony. Selected cricketers were – Dipak Datta, Aniruddha Dey, Bablu Sengupta, Sudip Chowdhury (Senior) and Paresh Roy.

School Sports :
Yaga & Judo :
State Level School Yoga & Judo Championship starts at Belonia. Minister Manindra Reang was opened this three-day tournament. MLA Bashudev Majumder was present in this function.

Table Tennis :
A meeting of Tripura Table Tennis Association will be held on September 02 next.

Kabaddi :
Tripura will participate in the National Senior Kabaddi Tournament at Imphal, Manipur on September 05-07 next.

Ball Badminton :
State Ball Badminton Championship will be held at Bishalgarh on September 06-07 next.

Football :

Birendra Club upset Nobodoy Sangha by 0-0 in the domestic First Division League Football tournament here today. At the Dashrath Dev Stadium, Badharghat, both the teams were locked in 90 minutes. With this draw Nobodoy earned five points from five matches while Birendra opened their account with one point from five matches.

A selection trial of Tripura under-16 football team will be starts from September 02 next. Sujit Ghosh named as a coach of the state team. National Tournament will be held at Mahipur, Panjab on September 20 next.

Cricket :
Transfer of cricketers for upcoming domestic season (2008-09) has been scheduled from September 10 to 20 next. Token will be distributed from September 01-08 next. The out station cricketers will collect their token and take part in the transfer in scheduled date also.

School Sports :

Judo & Yoga : State Level Judo & Yoga Championship will be held at Belonia on August 30 to September 01.

Kho-Kho & Kabadi : State Level Kho-Kho & Kabadi Championship will be held at Dharmanagar on September 11-13 next.

Football :

Forward Club registered second win in the domestic First Division League Football tournament here today. In a crucial match at the Dashrath Dev Stadium, Badharghat, Forward upset Tripura Police by 4-2 goals. Lanthan Kima struck first in 29th minute and Biswa Kalai increased the lead 2-0 before lemon break for Forward. After break, Kima netted another goal in 50th minute and and Jonson Darlong fined the net in 76th minute and Forward confirmed their victory with 4-0 goals. Trailing by big margin, Kiran Chhatri scored two goals in 79th and 82nd minute of the match. After this match, Forward bagged six points from four matches while Police team earned nine points from same numbers of match.

In another match at the same ground on Thursday last, Nine Bullets Club beat Nobodoy Sangha by 4-2 goals. Nigerian striker Benjimin scored two and Liberian striker Aron Iee Cole and Sanjoy Toppo scored for Nine Bullets. For Nobodoy, Liton Majumdar and Jagadish Debbarma netted two goals. Nine Bullets now earned six points from four matches while Nobodoy Sangha finished four points after same numbers of matches.

Badminton :
State level Badminton Championship will be held at NSRCC, Agartala on September 13-15 next.

S. M. Cup :
Tripura will play against Srilankan School team and other four states and unit school football teams in the Subrata Mukherjee Cup School Football tournament in New Delhi on September 02 next.

Tripura Sports School lifted the title of State Level Under-19 School Football tournament this year. In the final match at the Umakanta Mini Stadium, Sports School beat South District team by 2-0 goals.

Table Tennis : South District dominated in all sections of State Level School Table Tennis Championship at NSRCC, Agartala.

Under 14 Boys : Champion : West District, Runners : South District.
Under 14 Girls : Champion : South District, Runners : West District.
Under 17 Boys : Champion : South District, Runners : West District.
Under 17 Girls : Champion : South District, Runners : West District.

Swimming : West District clinched the title of State Level School Swimming Championship with 421 points here at Raima Swimming Pool, Badharghat. After 72 categories, South District finished second position with 395 points. Next three position were Tripura Sports School (124), North District (84) and Dhalai District (22).

Ageya Cholo Sangha sheared point with Lalbahadur Vyamagar in a crucial match of domestic First Division League Football tournament here today. At the Dashrath Dev Stadium, Badharghat, both the teams were locked 0-0. After the match Lalbahadur earned eight points from four matches while Ageya Cholo bagged seven points from same matches.

Tripura will play against Goa and Harinaya inn the National Sub-junior Football Tournament at Mahipur, Panjab next month.

Tripura Sports School beat North District team by 4-0 goals in State Level School Football tournament for under-19 boys here today. Manindra Jamatia scored two and Angel Jamatia and Durnamani Jamatia netted one each for wining team. In another match, South District defeated Dhalai District by 2-0 goals. Sanjit Kumar Jamatia and Nityajala Jamatia scored one each for winning tea.
Swimming : State Level Swimming Championship starts here today at Raima Swimming Pool, Badharghat.

Basketball :
Tripura will play in the National Youth Basketball tournament at Chhtisgarh on September 18-25 next. For the tournament, a selection trial will be held on August 30 at NSRCC next.

School Sports :
School Games Federation of India (SGFI) and Ministry of Youth Affairs ans Sports Government of India jointly identified a talents list from the participation in the 53rd National School Games with a target for better performance of Indian teams in the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games & Olympics etc. Now the selection list will be sent to the Sports Authority of India (SAI) for further action. Seven sports talents were included in this list. They are – Manu Debbarma (Swimming), Prasenjit Biswas (Judo), Prasenta Debnath, Dipa Karmakar, Amrita Shil, Sharmistha Malakar and Ruma Sarkar (all from Gymnastics).

Cricket :
Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) will build up an International Cricket Stadium at Polytechnic Ground very soon. Tripura Government handed over this ground to TCA for 20 years lease soon.

Tripura Sports School beat Blood Mouth Club by 2-0 goals in the domestic Second Division Super League Football tournament.

Tripura will play against Orissa on August 09 and Karnataka August 11 in the National Sub-junior Girls Football tournament for Under-17 girls at Haldiayani, Uttaranchal. Selection trial for Tripura will starts from July 22 next.

Rakhal Memorial Knock-out Football tournament will be starts from first week of August. Last Date of entry July 17.

The match between Youth Club and Umakanta Coaching Center were ended 1-1 goals in the domestic Third Division Super League Football tournament today

Tripura Sports School holds hot favorite Soroj Sangha by 0-0 in the domestic Second Division League Football tournament today.

Tennis :

Three days Summer Coaching camp finished at Agartala today. This is the first time Tripura Tennis Associaiton organized summer camp. Two Bangladeshi trainers Amdadul Huk Milan and Raihan Bhuia were attend this camp.

# The pattern of organization of Primary Stage competition has been changed in compare to preceding year. There will be introduced physical fitness test at block & sub-division level. Thereafter the competition will be organized with the selected talents at District & State level.

# 15 days duration of coaching camp will be organized with the selected talents after completion of State level Primary stage competition.

# Track Suits will be provided for players along with Sports dress & also track suits for officials.

# Resolved to increase the Incentive to the prizewinners of 53rd National School games, 2007-08.

# Publication of Booklets containing the activities of Tripura School Sports Board & performance of the School teams during, 2007-08.

# The matter of selection of Boys & Girls for National participation was discussed in detailed. After examining all aspects, it was resolved that the existing procedure of tentative selection in the state level meet followed by the final selection during the Coaching camp would continue subject to condition that the same set of selectors would function at State level meet and final selection in coaching camp.

# The Chairman, TSSB, suggested that comprehensive guidelines for selection of Players for each discipline at all stages of competition might be formulated. At the same time, a code of conduct for the players / Officials / guardians may be framed & necessary steps taken for wide publication of both the guidelines & code of conduct (i.e Do’s and Don’ts) as a measure of bringing about transparency in the system.
# It has been observed that some of the Assistant teachers of Govt. Schools and Physical Instructors (working in the Govt. aided Schools) are being utilized by the organizer in the School sports activities due to shortage of P.Is in DYAS Department. But they are not getting T.A & D.A for the purpose. It is necessary to provide T.A & D.A for them as like as SAI Coaches. Proposal would be submitted to DYAS to take up with finance Department, if needed.

# Resolved that until and unless declared by the DYAS as Sports Sub-divisions, Santir Bazar & Teliamura will play under the Belonia and Khowai Sub-division respectively. The Director assured that shortly the Office would be established in both sub-divisions.

# Resolved that Tripura Sports School will participate in the State level School meet directly as a separate unit in the discipline of Football, Athletics, Judo & swimming during the Year 2008-09.

# The chairman of TSSB observed that the detail evaluation reports from the implementing officers of different games should be submitted through proper channel.
